16.4 Incident Categories: Creating a Parent Category

Parent categories allow you to group your incident categories into a logical hierarchy.  Follow the steps below to create and use parent categories.

To create a new parent category:

  1. Click the "Settings" tile.
  2. Click on the Parent Categories tab at the top of the screen.
  3. Click on the "Create Type" button to create a new parent category.
  1. Provide a Description for the parent category.
  2. Provide an optional code.
  3. If your portal has multiple regions indicate whether the parent category should be available to all regions.
  4. Click the "Save" button.
